Moving Along

This painting is coming together bit by bit, and I’m finally starting to feel the rhythm of it. I’m working in acrylic on canvas, letting the bold, saturated colors of childhood toys contrast with the starkness of a cracked mirror. It’s a visual push and pull between innocence and damage—something that’s been on my mind a lot lately.
The inspiration came from a mix of personal reflection and the idea of how we perceive ourselves versus how we’re reflected back—especially when things feel broken. These plastic stacking rings felt like the perfect stand-in: colorful, nostalgic, a little too perfect… until they’re not.
There’s still more I want to explore in this piece, but for now, I’m just glad to be making progress.
